Discovery Time

Still one of our favourite times of the week, Discovery Time means we get to make friends with people across the syndicate. It is always wonderful to have extra people helping and to see everyone working together. This weeks theme was 'Buddies' and activities ranged from treasure hunts to friendship bracelets.

Whaea Gabrielle is back

Whaea Gabriell was back in Tui helping us to learn our pepeha and waiata. We are getting ready for our Marae trip in a couple of weeks. Learning how to pronounce words correctly is very important and we are grateful that Gabrielle can come in to support us in our learning.

Tui and Ruru Liturgy

At our very special Liturgy on Mary we all sang, prayed and listened very respectfully. Mrs Pennington was so proud of us all especially those people who stood and prayed in front of everyone. Thank you to Father John , Maree and everyone who was able to attend.

What a fantastic day we had on Friday. Our finest athletes came to school dressed in their countries colours for Sacred Heart Petone's Junior Team mini-olympics. After the opening ceremony we all participated in a variety of events. Some of us even went on to win medals. Huge thank you to Claire, Helen, Sharon, Phoebe for helping out and all the other parents who came to watch.

Gymnastics in the Hall

Every Wednesday we come to school in our PE gear as we have our gymnastic sessions with Georgina. We love warming up and learning our stretch positions.

Welcome Mr Hawkins

On Monday we welcomed Mr Tim Hawkins to Tui Class and Sacred Heart Petone. Mr Hawkins is a trainee teacher and he will be with us for the rest of the term. He is straight into teaching us, aren't we lucky to have 2 teachers now.
