It had been a long week and the weather was a bit windy. But those that could participate in the Petone Christmas Parade had big smiles and we had a wonderful community time.

Morgan the Builder
Today we had another inspirational visitor. Morgan is one of the builders working at Sacred Heart at the moment he is also a relative of Polito!. Morgan talked to us about his tools and motivated us to work on our maths and reading which are very important if you want to be a builder. More importantly he said we really needed to be able to work as a team and care for other as this is vital in building and I'd say any other career. Thank you Morgan!!!

RISE up Time
The amount of learning each day during RISE up time is fantastic. Through play Tui Class develop their social skills, imagination and are always problem- solving and thinking. Here's some of the next generation of creative thinkers in action.
What great team work between Jarvis, Benjamin and Emily. There was a lot of negotiating, compromising and sharing ideas to complete this incredible city.
They then worked together to make a sign asking for their creation to be left alone for a while.
What a lot of Science and Maths is going on here. Benjamin you have created an amazing water run, using your initiative and problem solving skills. I wonder what will happen when you have more equipment to use?
Greta and Toby are quietly working next to each other occasionally sharing ideas. It takes a lot of perseverance, comparing and thinking to create things using just the skewers and noodles.
Jarvis and Lily are great friends, their oral language and imagination are in use here, at the tea party for 2.

Outside in the sun these boys are practising their hand eye coordination as well as increasing their fitness and ball skills. I wonder what rules they are developing?
